CalendarBar Privacy Policy
In short: CalendarBar reads today's calendar so it can show it at the edge of your screen. Your meetings stay on your PC. CalendarBar has no servers, no accounts and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data.
What CalendarBar reads
Only the calendar sources you turn on, and only today's meetings:
- Classic Outlook on the same PC, through Outlook itself. Nothing goes over the internet.
- Calendar links you add (for example from Google Calendar, Outlook.com or iCloud). CalendarBar downloads that link and nothing else.
- Microsoft 365 or Outlook.com, if you sign in. CalendarBar asks Microsoft for read-only access to your calendar (
Calendars.Read) and your basic profile.
For each meeting it reads the time, title, location, organizer and attendees, whether you're busy, free or away, whether the meeting is private, and the online meeting link. It never reads email, contacts, files or attachments.
CalendarBar is read-only. It can't create, change, accept, decline or delete anything.
Where your data goes
- Nowhere but your screen. Meetings are kept in memory while CalendarBar runs and are not saved to disk.
- No servers. Eight Head Software doesn't run any servers for CalendarBar and never receives your calendar.
- No tracking. No analytics, telemetry, advertising or crash uploads.
- The only internet traffic goes to the calendar source you set up: the host of a calendar link you added, or Microsoft's sign-in and calendar service.
What is stored on your PC
- Settings, such as screen edge, colours and your list of calendars. Calendar link addresses are encrypted with Windows for your user account.
- Logs for troubleshooting, kept on your PC only. They never contain meeting titles, locations, people or links.
- Sign-in for Microsoft 365 is handled by Windows. CalendarBar doesn't store your password or write sign-in tokens to disk.
Uninstalling CalendarBar from the Microsoft Store removes the app, its settings and its logs.
On-screen privacy
- Hide from screen sharing is on by default. CalendarBar stays visible to you but is left out of screen shares, recordings and screenshots.
- Private meetings show only "Private" and the time, unless you choose to show details.
Contact form on this website
The contact form at getcalendarbar.com is separate from the app. If you use it, your name, email address and message are emailed to Eight Head Software so we can reply. They aren't stored on this website. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes the message to deliver it and runs a spam check (Turnstile) when you submit the form.
Children
CalendarBar isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anyone's personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
